So, i'm in the middle of a decision between two cpus. I've tried every option including lowering the multiplier right down to various. I'm stable e5 2660 v2 oc 112.8mhz bclk all cores 2.93 ghz and with turbo 1 core 3.38 ghz, 2 cores 3.27ghz, 3 cores 3.15ghz, 4 cores 3.04ghz.

This cpu is unbelievable cool and i was going to overclock it. L2 8 x 256kb, l3 20mb ; Just bought a xeon e5 2670 plus mobo for 300 of the bay.

Hello guys i'm thinking to buy system that includes intel xeon e5 2670 8 core cpu and i would like to overclock it somewhere near @4.0ghz. And if there is no way to get better clock speed then would you recommend xeon e3 1270v3 for gaming and video editing. Anybody have experience with getting a good oc out of these chips.

Sadly the multiplier doesn't go above 33x, so overclocking options are limited! I increased bclk to 109 and i have ~3.1ghz all cores. My question is, i saw evga has a model for the new xeon e5.

If playback doesn't begin shortly, try restarting your device. Also my ram has little room to overclock at all. An overclock of 4.0 ghz should be easily achievable.
