I have the k2100m 27imac 2010 i have installed it and uninstalled it because i learned i needed to flash it it sits a black screen now i see the nvflasher for windows and the rom and i have a windows desktop and laptop and a linux laptop at work what u have not been able to find are the hard ware options for connecting the gpu to a device to. So if your imac crashes, for any reason, it’s totally his fault !

For a 27”, the best choice is the quadro k2100m as it runs cooler than the radeon 6970m with a lower tdp and equal performance. But you will loose the bootscreen (can’t use the boot menu using the option key or access the recovery os), no backlight controls and no target display mode.
