Corsair h150i pro thermal paste: Motherboard pbo on, no other oc settings, wi. Hello, i’m running an amd 5950x cpu, with a custom water loop.
Recently Upgraded From A 6700K To A 5950X.
Having a higher maximum temperature supported by the silicon and firmware allows the cpu to pursue higher and longer boost. Recently, i received my block for my rtx 3090. I think only cpu current is set to 1 and nothing other then cpu voltage i.
Cooler Is Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4.
Lian li tu150 mini itx case; 142w vs 88w respectively, so dont expect the 5950x to run the same temps as 3700x did when you full load it. This is my first amd processor and i am still figuring out pbo etc (haven't changed things in the bios yet), but when i boot into windows (a fresh install) the processor temperature is ~50c, but even opening a chrome tab causes it to go to ~62 and.
In This Case, I Would Save Your Current Profile Bios Settings In The Values You Had It As A Safe Option To Avoid The High Temps And Then I Would Use The Option Load Optimized Defaults And Reboot The Pc.
I'm experiencing high temps on my 5950x and i'm not sure if i need to start being suspicious of my cooler, cpu, or motherboard. Generally it's already a bit lower on 5950x, i've seen it as high as 1.53v, mine came 1.48v out of the box for single core and pbo all core was 1.3v or so, idle temps doesn't matter. Anyway, here are my specs:
Anyone Using An H150 To Cool Their 5950X, What Are Your Idle Temps Like?
I hit around 4.6ghz all core and peaks of 5.1 (4.95 continuous) on single core loads with temps hitting around 85c max. I just upgraded from a 3600 to a 5950x recently, though i figured since it's a higher core count/higher powered chip compared to my old r5 warmer temps are to be expected. I don't think the 5950x is very different, temperature wise.
